I just love cool couples, and Lynn and Matthew were exactly that. They allowed themselves to be "in the moment" throughout their wedding day, and they enjoyed every detail... and so did we! Congratulations, Lynn and Matthew! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness. Thanks to to Studio EMP for the wonderful photos.
A Swellegant Secret: Conscious Bean. I love when someone is incredibly passionate about their business, and this experience is just SO over the top fabulous, that I have to take the time to share! As I write this at 5:48 AM, with no coffee in hand, I'm dreaming of Matthew and his crew showing up on my doorstep. If you're considering adding a memorable detail to your event, look no further. Here's what Matthew says about Conscious Bean. His description may be a bit long, but that's what happens when you're truly passionate about your business!
"Its the details that make an event truly special. The attention to the little things that really make you say wow. Recently I had the pleasure of working with a vendor who made me say wow. Simply the coolest, most amazing coffee service ever... Conscious Bean (but the owner refers to it as an organic pop up boutique cafe.) The attention to detail made Conscious Bean truly special. First off, the chrome equipment gleamed against the reclaimed dark hardwood bar. While the fresh ingredients floating in glass bottles brought life and warmth to the rich surface. The barista seemed very at home behind the iron framed bar. Like a craftsman behind his workbench he individually tailoring drinks to each guests desire. Every ingredient chosen with care and intention. The entire 53 drink menu had something for coffee and tea lovers, sweet tooths, those who don’t like coffee and even as a dairy bar for kids! The drinks were not only organic, but all the flavorings were homemade from true, genuine ingredients, free of chemicals and additives. The products were all biodegradable, reusable or renewable and if that wasn’t enough, the entire thing condenses down into a shiny black Toyota Prius! Yes, a Prius. The barista explained to me the special attention they pay to the water they use, but I was slightly mesmerized by his dashing smile, I digress.
One way or another, I was genuinely impressed by definitively the coolest...coffee station, espresso stand, cappuccino cart, brew bar…whatever it is, whatever you choose to call Conscious Bean, it is truly fabulous. A shining testament to what is possible from honestly caring about the details. Their slogan is “The finest the earth has to offer.” the owner, Matthew Evilsizor said "We bring the best to your lips, so those lips will offer the same love to the world.” I found that very fitting. The mocha I had, literally warmed my soul. It was made with an organic whole milk in a glass bottle (how cool is that!) from Straus Creamery (they also offer and organic almond or hemp milk but the Straus milk made maybe the smoothest creamiest froth I’ve ever had), a rich but smooth espresso roasted like it was created specifically to be paired with the organic fair-trade dutched baking chocolate and raw cane sugar. Heaven in a cup, no whip cream need. The drink was well balanced. I could taste each delicious element of my glorious libation. I had to go back for another. Studying the menu I came across a Hug. Lets just say, I thought nothing could be better than the mocha, and I was wrong. If you haven’t yet been privy to Conscious Bean, you better get on it. Worth every penny and good to the last drop. Conscious Bean will make you say wow."
Once Rachel saw the gorgeous view for her wedding at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel, she knew it would be perfect for Oren and her! Aaaahhhh... that view truly is one of a kind. They were so much in love, and had such a fun Bridal party, that we wanted to share a few photos to highlight their special day.
Check out Rachel's gorgeous dress! Amazing.
Congratulations, once again, Rachel and Oren! A lifetime of happiness to you.
The latest wedding trends for 2014? Take a look at creative brilliance at work at our latest photo shoot. We hope it provides 2014 Inspiration for Wedding Couples. It truly is all in the details. Our "Art Begets Art" shoot was a collaboration of the Best of the Best of So Cal. We received inspiration from fashion and art, and had an entire showroom to create some really cool work. Take one detail from this shoot, and imagine YOUR possibilities! Behind the scenes? What really happens at a photo shoot? It was a bunch of creative brilliant talents working their magic on a huge deadline. The team created three incredible vignettes. I marveled at the intricate details in what happens when the set takes place. If you're in a creative field, you know the feeling... you want to make everything perfect. If you're an analytical type, you'd really understand the logistics that it takes to put something like this together.
And, that, is what, at Swellegant, we do for fun.

One of the greatest pleasures in my career is to be able to plan and coordinate multiple weddings within a family. I am so lucky to have worked with the Guth family for years. Julia and Amit are the perfect high school sweethearts, and they are making a beautiful life for themselves, now in New York. Remembering their spring wedding with pleasure, and proud to be featured in The Knot -- both online and in print -- for this gorgeous outdoor wedding. Check it out here for details! As always, I could never do it without my incredible vendor partners:

Sometimes, ONE photo can take your breath away. Julio Cesar Photography caught that image for Sandra and Ilai at The Richard Nixon Library at their gorgeous summer wedding. The photo only took a few seconds, and we we so happy to make sure that Sandra and Ilai were able to slip away into the final sunset of their day.
We wish Sandra and Ilai a lifetime of happiness, and we're thankful for having the opportunity to work with them at every stage of their wedding planning process. They were a beautiful, gracious couple ( Think Jackie O and JFK) who honored their families and their friends

We had a fabulous time working with this incredible family to create a "one of a kind" unique Bar Mitzvah for the talented and brilliant Eric. The design allowed the adults to dine in elegance with beautiful draping and unique, elegant florals , while the young adults dined under a tented ceiling treatment. When the dancing began, it didn't stop all night! The cool seamless white dance floor with a customized logo wowed the guests. The colors of red, silver, and black were carried out in everything from the graphics to customized poker chip favors to the late night candy station.
Congratulations, Eric! It was awesome being part of your weekend celebration

As a seasoned wedding planner who has been honored to be part of weddings for more than 10 years, I’ve love to share my Top 10 Moments YOU should have on your Wedding Day.
1) A great breakfast with your wedding party and family. Whether you’re getting your make-up done, or out for a round of golf, don’t forget to eat. It’s going to be a long day!
2) An exchange of card and/or gifts with each other. Nothing feels better when you have a few jitters than when you have the words from your fiancée before the ceremony.
3) A private first look with one another. That moment trumps all others, and will allow you to be completely calm when the ceremony begins. I’ve seen the very best photos of the day coming from that moment.
4) A pre-ceremony toast or prayer with your bridal party. Take a deep breath, raise your glass or bow your head, and take a moment to thank those closest to you.
5) A great LONG walk down the aisle. Look around at your venue, and choose the longest walk possible. You only get to do this once. Why not make it count?
6) THE Kiss. Make it matter. Take your time. Lips are a great thing to be celebrated.
7) Your first dance. Whether you love to dance, or hate to dance, it really doesn’t matter in this moment. Get some dance lessons prior to your wedding, choose a timeless or meaningful song, and relish the moment.
8) Thank you speech to your guests. Take a quick moment to thank your family and friends at your cake cutting. It is a wonderful time to thank those who made your big day possible.
9) Your LAST dance. Breathe. Look around, and take in the last moments of your day.
10) Your send off. Sparklers? Fireworks? Confetti Blast? Motorcycle or Rolls Royce? Honeymoon clothes? Personalize it and make it your own.
Art begets Art, and I have recently been inspired by personalities, nature and paintings. (My husband likes when I am inspired by personalities, and nature rather than paintings, smile inserted here.) When your wedding day has personalities, why not create something beautiful to turn your moments into memories? Your wedding guests will LOVE looking at incredible art as part of your wedding day, and I have to give a huge Shout out to Bethany Thomas , who is an artist who knows how to personalize your wedding in a whole new way! A trend-setting idea that can be a great element for any wedding, corporate, or non-profit event!
Congratulations to Rich and Michelle! They're a match made in heaven. It is super special to plan an intimate ceremony and dinner for two, and this is the first time in my career that I have been asked to plan a wedding for two people with no other guests ( I signed as a witness for the ceremony). Behind the scenes, it required a lot of work! (and happily so).
My friends have asked, "So, how to you plan a ceremony for two?" What do two people really need to get married? Here's my answer: a lot! Coordinating any event requires work and time, and that's why my team need to LOVE what they do.
Here's how it goes: Hair and make up at 2, photography at 3, first look at 4, drive to the beach at 4:30,... etc, while all of the magic is happening behind the scenes....
Every wedding couple should have transportation, flowers, a beautiful table, photography, an incredible place to stay, and, of course, a beautiful sunset! Great desserts should be, of course, are the piece de resistance.
This is how we made the magic happen for Rich and Michelle: We worked HARD and have the best partners in the Orange County Wedding World,
including: Bloom Blox Designs
Congratulations and best wishes!
